Basically what he would like to know is if anyone had any experience with both a 60-1 and SC61. Which one will have a better response time if both were using a .63 turbine housing? Thanks for any help!

I was having a hard time deciding between a T3/60-1, T3/T61 and an SC6152S. I ended up forking over the extra money and went with the SC6152S.

Both are gonna spool really late on a B16. Here are some examples:

T3/60-1

SC61

It's not really a fair comparison IMO due to the differences in PSI, but you can get a general idea. If choosing between those 2 turbos I'd go with the SC61. They spool about the same but the SC61 is capable of a bit more power. How much power are you looking to make anyway? Both of these turbo's could be overkill...

This is my experience with customers 95% of the time. If you're looking for MORE Than 500hp, use those turbos. However a 60 Trim T3/T04e may get you the same numbers with quicker spool time and a little more boost, but a much better (useable) power band.

OK. In that case I would go with the SC61, if you're limited to those 2 turbos. Otherwise there are other options out there that may be better suited to you're needs, both in spool time and power. Contact Mac, the shodan, on here. He'll set you up with something nice Good luck with your set-up man!

I ordered the sc61 today, no turning back now. I think it will suite my application, my boy running the same one, and he still spanked my *** on both take off and top speed, same motor, plus I have a little bigger bore block, so that may help a little

i think you made a mistake by going with the sc61. back when it was the bandwagon i went ahead and got a 60-1 and i havent had any regrets, i make full 22psi at 5200RPM and i made 472whp on a dynapack. NOT a dynojet. it spooled faster than a friends sc61 and made just about the same power. if its not to late i would cancel the order and re-concider. just my opinion.

the 60-1 is too f@#%king huge for something that put out less power that the sc61, believe me everyday I go to the pheonixturbo site staring at the 60-1 with phone and debit card in my hand, just couldn't make up my mind. then My boy got the sc61 and I got the t3/t4 60 trim with 48ar, and I only made 239whp at 14psi and I was unhappy with that, he used the sc61 at 10psi, and he was tearing me apart, he is undefeated, against all, me, I beat on most. but still I cannot beat him off the line or on a roll. he convinced me that the sc61 was a good choice, plus if I get the 60-1, I would have to change all my turbo side piping, because the piping on that side is 2.25,and I would not be able to use a filter on the 4 inch inlet on the 60-1. but the sc61 is a direct swap. so those are the things that helped me to chose the sc61
