Default specs on a turbo?

I recently picked up aT3 warner-ishi IHI snail from a t-bird but it doesn't have the A/R on the housings. It's not the biggest thing on the world but just curious. I know the Garrett snails from the t-birds are 60/63 but I know this thing isn't no 60/63 so does anyone know? Here's 2 pics of it. I'm guessing it's like 40/48 or something smaller. Also what kind of oilline kit for it? An IHI I'm assuming since I'm using on a kit I'm building for someone for a 1.5 engine.

2.3t ford engines only came with 2 types of turbos for both garrett and IHI/ishi. both were the same maps/ratios and were designated as such: .60/.48 (automatic transmissions) or .60/.63 (manual transmissions).

dont even try to dispute this information. it is fact.

I'm assuming that since you think it's small, it's from an auto car and is the quicker spooling of the two. however, just to let you know....those of us in the turbo ford world consider the IHI turbos from the 87-88 tbirds to be junk. They are horribly prone to turbine housing cracks and the bearings wear out very fast compared to their garrett counterparts.

Yeah I used to have a 60/63 and this Warner-Ishi is pretty much the same size as a RHB5 I also have. Isn't it also a rhb5 also but with a t3 flange and the housing can actually bolt onto IHI RHB5 VJ11's from probe/mx6's? I've heard the same thing from other people that it's frowned upon from the Garrett unit. The snail I have is actually in really good condition and no cracks whatsoever so I'm happy with it and the person I'm building the kit for didn't want that much lag so I got this smaller t3 and something on a t3 platform so come the time to upgrade he didn't have to get a different manifold as if I went with the VJ11 with the square flange.

I was actually looking at that second pic of it on it's side and hoping to see a pic of the actual exhaust housing outlet.

It may very well BE an actual probe/mx6 turbo that someone just tossed on a tbird to keep the car going since the rhb5's have the same t3 type flang on them.

that definitely isnt a standard tbird exhaust housing for sure.

was it attached to the factory svo/tbird downpipe elbow or something else?

It actually has a seperate port for the wastegate flapper and the exhaust not just wide open like on the RHB5 on mx6's. It looks just like the other Warner-Ishi's found on t-birds. I was just curious on the specs. Why does it look more different than the others?

looks different because the water ports are plugged off. they should be watercooled from the factory and that one doesn't look like it's been watercooled in a long time from the age look on that plug I see.

thats all.

guy would have had to do a lot of re-plumbing to get rid of those water lines also unless he just did a bypass which would have burned on the exhaust manifold or what not.

now I think I'm just rambling.
