Default Soon to be boosted!

I have a 97 gsr and i just ordered a turbo kit (thanks hybridvteceg). It comes with an in tank fuel pump, but other than that I have a stock fuel system. What do you guys recommend for fuel and engine managment? I was thinking Hondata s200 with boost and rc injectors (which size????). Do I need an obd1 conversion harness? Is it okay to use my stock fuel rail and FPR?? By the way the kit has an fmax manifold, T3T4 turbo, 3"dp and tial 35mm wastegate. BTW, if anyone has a hondata or injectors that they wanna sell let me know! Thanks for the help!!!!

you need obd1 harness and obd1 ecu chipped for hondata, stock fuel rail should be o.k., depending on you whp goal.. injector size will depend on whp goal too.. how much whp do you want to run?

resistor box is needed for peak n hold injectors, saturated injectors are now available up to 550cc, you will also need ob1 clips for these injectors

For now im looking to get about 250-300whp. Eventually I want to rebuild my motor, or buy a built motor. If I get a boost depedent FMU, will i need anything else?? I was thinking about doing that for now and then upgrading to hondata.

i would just get hondata in the first place, don't spend any extra money in the longe run.. its way worth it.. - i would never run fmu.. for injectors, i'd suggest 550's (they offer them in saturated type)

I kno that the FMU is not the best way to go, but for now (1-2 months) I am going to run the fmu until I can buy the hondata and everything else so it's done the right way. What else do I need with the FMU?? Is the fuel pump and fmu sufficent?? BTW in 1-2 months I am going to buy the hondata s200b, obd1 ecu, OBD conversion harness, RC550cc injectors, str fuel rail. Did I miss anything??

which fuel pump are you using? that can make a bid difference. FMU should be fine for boosting below 10psi, anything more definitely needs engine management. If using FMU you can probably hold off on the injectors, if no FMU then you need injectors.

Instead of the FMU, I ordered this off Ks-motorsports.com.

Think that will be enough?? I have a walbro 255LPH fuel pump.

Anyone hear about this type of fuel managment?? I'm really anxious and want to order all the parts I need b4 the week is over. Also, when I put everything on my car what should I do as far as ignition timing retard and colder plugs?? 2deg retard and 1 step colder plugs sound good??

for light boost, I wouldn't be overly concerned with timing retard and engine management. Some 91 octane, 1 set colder plugs, and a good fmu on the warlboro fuel pump should be plenty.

If you go fmu route you will need missing link/check valves, and an inline fuel pump, but when you go hondata you'll need to switch to an intank so just remove existing inline pump. I suggest go hondata, some 550 cc injectors. Peak/hold requires resistor box, saturated doesnt. I would just get saturated and not mess with the extra unecessary wiring.

Most of your fuel system(rail, lines, ect... can stay stock for your power goals.

Basically i would save the hassle of removing, modifying parts to run fmu and then switch to hondata. Then after you go hondata you have the hassle of selling your parts. If your budget allows you KISS and just go hondata

As of now my budget won't let me go with Hondata. For now I'm going with 450cc dsm's as reccomended by the person I bought the turbo kit from. When I want to step it up a bit, It'll be hondata and alot more whp!
BTW thanks for all the help and suggestions!
