SOHC Clutches
I ran a Clutch Master Stage 4 last year for about 16,000km daily driving and about 30 passes with slicks at the track. It wore down by the end of the season and now won't hold anymore. Anyone have experience with the Stage 5? I'm looking for a clutch that will hold the tq and last longer than a single season.

I think i might try out the Spec stage 3 clutch next time. I dont know how much power your producing so just go check out the spec cluthes, they've been around forever and they are fairly inexpensive.
I've heard from a lot of people that the St5 CM isn't much more bothersome to drive than the CM St4.
I have the CM st4 and I think its cake to drive, so the CM st5 might not be a bad idea.
But, you gotta figure it is a performance part and you are obviously giving it a nice beating with 30+ slick runs and daily driving so I think you could have expected it to go out pretty soon.

That all I seem to hear these day, performance parts don't last..the CM Stage 4 is a joke to drive, I hardly know the difference over OEM, it did well, but I don't want to pull a cltuch out every year to rebuild it. The price is right too for the CM Stage 5!
Car makes 300whp on pump, but building a new set up and going to be taking it up a notch this year.

I use an Exedy 3 puck thin plate. I really like it but I have gone through 2 of them in 4 years, about 20k miles and maybe a couple trips to the track a year. It holds the power well and isn't extremely expensive.

Well in this case it's true. A clutch is a wear item and when you really step up the power and run slicks, they don't last as long.

Custom 6 puck sprung hub with a 1700lb pressure plate. It feels great on the street
I can't wait to see how it performs this year at the track. I'm sure it will meet and exceed all my expectations.
RPS has been in the industry for a long time. Didn't know that they updated their site. Click the link to see just a few of the many racers that put their trust in RPS to help them get down the track.

high performance clutches are desgined to give the best grip and do their work
they werent ment to last long as any ordinary clutch , specially under high use conditions
for example the material on my 6 spuck sprung clutch its pretty good, and it grabs good, but I KNOW it probably wont last me more than 2-2.5 years of beating

My spec stage three kicks *** as well. I've had it in for over a year. You can easily dump it in 2nd at like 6k and do a sick burnout w/o a hint of slippage, or for that matter, in third on the highway with the same results (at 50mph)
It's taken everything i've thrown at it... and the price is right. It's rated to 300 ft/lbs of torque, so it should work out well.
