So its time for smog.. I got a notice saying that I have to go to a test only station.

So what is everyone doing so that they pass at a test only station in ca?

I am swapped, and boosted..

I dont have a back up motor, am I screwed?

 

yeah u are pretty much screwed unless u got connection at a test only station or swap every thing over. but i belive theres a way u paid 500-1500 to the state of califonia and they will let u go with out smog for 2 yrears. call up dmv and ask.

 

i would like to know also. think my smog is coming up

 

is the motor bar'd? if sou could just take off the turbo parts and put them back to stock or carb legal parts and then put it back on. it might take a while but it will be worth it

im in the norcal sf bay area...

 

boost is not that big of a deal but is your motor the one that's not gonna pass?

i believe it might.. i am not sure though..

 

well i mean will your motor pass because of the years? i believe there's a law that you can put a motor in your chassis only if it's a newer year.. not sure about the hybrid laws...

 

the car wont even pass the visual so there no point to take it in for smog just have to get some connection on the test only shops
