Slicks are in, what to do to prevent axles breaking
just got my MT 22x8x15. going to use them on my 210ish WHP civic, stock axles and will be boosting 14psi. how high of a rpm is safe to drop it at on these new slicks...i don't want to be breaking any axles at the track.
How well is your suspension setup? Are you still on stock bushings/shocks/etc? Wheelhop is probably the most common cause for broken axles. Invest in some Z10 radius arms.
As for launch rpm, you'll have to find your car's sweet spot. What mods do you have again? I would try from 3.5-4.5k rpms as a starting point. Then, just increasing launch rpms on each run til you can hook a good 60ft. 210whp on 22" slicks, you should be shooting for 1.9-1.7 60fts. Also, remember to set your tire pressure. Start @ 20psi and work your way down. You'll find a setup that'll work for you. Good luck!

dont worry, those slicks arent big enough for you to break axles with, youlle spin.
i was breaking axles with Street tires and even on 14x8x20 slicks.
was only an all motor SOHC too
nothing crazy
