Default Sleeved motors

How important do you think they are for making around 350hp......to the wheels. Of course i could run some b16 pistons for low compression on a gsr, or maybe some forged components....i have just heard horror stories about sleeves sinking, companies not backing up the work etc....can i have some input here?

I dont believe you need sleeves if your goal is 350whp

It wouldn't hurt and it would be precaution I would recommend to anyone. Why roll the dice with your block??

Edit - GE rules!

Just make sure its tuned well and you wont need sleeves. We saw a few boost spikes, a bunch of lean runs on the dyno and it finally cracked the #3 cylinder. I believe that the motor wouldve held up if it wasnt for shitty tuning on the shops part.

Thats definitely true..if you've got the money and are willing to spend it, go for it. But if you are on a budget or trying to keep your costs down, spend some of that money on good dyno tuning and save the rest of it. You won't need aftermarket sleeves for 350whp if you are well tuned. This is just my opinion...but, I'm a college student with no money so obviously I'm biased towards my bank account

I think if you're looking at 450hp and under don't sleeve. Spend that saved money on engine management and a good tuner instead.
