Sleeve to sleeve clearance?
My friend and I were looking at our other friend's block tonite and we noticed something a little out of place. So I figured I would ask for some opinions or additional information.
When looking at the point where two sleeves meet, there seemed to be a gap that was definetly not usual to our eyes at least. So we took out our feeler guage, and the gap measured .006in in one gap, .0015 on the good one (you can't even see a gap really). The one with .006 had a noticeable uneven gap. I personally found that unusual and large considering that i have never worked or seen a block with such a noticeable gap.
Does anybody know what is an acceptable clearance for this? Or maybe has someone also seen a block with a gap between the sleeves?
Any help would be appreciated since we really dont want this motor to have any problems.

I have never seen a block with a gap until yesterday... it looks kinda like the one that Bnjmn posted there, except that in one of the sleeves, the gap was not straight. All the blocks that I have seen look more like the one that earl posted. I wanted to post a picture, but we both live in Corona and the block was in the Irvine garage... my cameras were in Corona
