Default A Simple Question

Hello as I said before I am brand new to all of this. Call me a noob lol. I have a bone stock 1991 Honda civic lx sedan with a 1.5L SOHC and if I'm not mistaken that is the d15b non-vtech engine. What all do I need to do to put boost on this engine that won't break the bank to bad. If there is even a cheap route to boost this thing.

Ebay kit. Just leave the wastegate off, it's the weak link.

In the long run. I don't want to start doing **** that's going to blow this thing up right out of the gate. And I prefer to stay away from the eBay turbokits if possible. I know that is the cheapest option but probably not the best.

Ebay turbos is equivalent to unprotected intercourse with hookers. Really never fun to begin with, only satisfies you briefly, and eventually you will get herpes.

Dear FI forum,

We are sorry that this mindless poster first came to GDD. Now his stupid inane thread has been moved to your lovely forum that has banned our once loved Patchy. Keep fighting the good fight and please suggest the finest ebay turbo and NOS combination for this user as well as a really good base map for a tune, just like GDD would suggest.

Thanks,
Doctorake, one of the many GDD lawyers, representing GDD

I will tell something I learned a long time ago. Pick two: cheap, reliable, fast. You will save quite a bit by piecing your kit together over time and doing all the work but that means learning just about everything there is to know about FI. Knowing where you can go cheap and where you should pay the extra bit for reliablity. Don't cut corners on things like wastegate, boost controller, quandary the turbo. You can kInda cut corners on intercooler piping, the manifold (get a decent log vs. A $1200 ramhorn). Decide whato your goals are and go from there. Good luck newb.

And the Oscar for most apologetic performance goes to.....

C'mon, playboy,
That was your boy.. not our boy, even though he seems to have returned as Moran147 (and I will recant this if shown otherwise). I'll gladly take the shenanigans of this poster over that monkey-stain any day of the week. Let's just be clear, my friend..

And to make a mountain out of a mold-hill to boot, my goodness..
Creating a non sequitur dramatic mention of him to make it appear as though he has left this Earth in martyrdom is just as riduculously silly as the general drama that the GDD forum itself has become. That's why his nonsense wasn't welcomed, and not due to some unjust political persecution, ok? Save the "Free Patchy" rhetoric for the sheeple in GDD.

But, with all that said, in all fairness, thank you for your apologetic concern for our little world that is FI

He was GDD(our)'s boy.

I don't care though, ban him, ban Moran, no worries to me. I was just looking for something GDD relevant to add to the thread and it was the first thing I could think of.

FYI --> He returned with the new username Moran147. However, under the new username, he is now unable to post in tech forums, but is free to post in GDD.

Please use the Post Report feature if you suspect that he is posting in a tech forum under a new username.

I guess, now I'm curious.. Why would you think we'd even want that here? That's why GDD exists... FOR GDD-Types of characters.
