What bar/psi wastegate would I need for my set up.

Once again...the stats....t3/t04 silver surfer .63AR - Going for 380-400hp

I'm going with Tial, but unsure of what psi/bar I need?

But anyways...I'm getting close to being done! Got the motor back about 3 weeks ago...got the LSD installed about a week ago. Clutch came in today, and the last 3 things I have to get is the wastegate, fuel pump and BOV! Then its back up to the shop to be installed and tuned!

Man everything was going sooo smooth until I tried to buy a manifold from a shop in Mooresville NC - Paid 340 for a tig welded log style manifold. Never shipped, no emails and no replys back on his facebook page! Learned today they are "temporarily" out of business for "new and upcoming things" - A guy who lives in Mooresville that uses this shop told me this - but they still have the ad on ebay. Scumbags.

Will be opening a case to get my money back on April, 29th. And will probably take 2-6 weeks to get my money back!! And I can't wait any longer!! Gots to have this bish on the road! So probably just going to order a cheap cast iron manifold and run that for a couple months until I get my money back and save up to get a nice one!

The name of the shop is - JDMDREAMS - owner - Shawn Jennings - Beware of this clown!

haha...I know man! But I just shelled out 350 that I wont get back for at least a month. My tuning guy said it would be alright for the power I'm going for?!?!?

I would only run the cast log for a short period of time.

See what I was thinking is to just get a cast log mani and finish the build. I should have my money back shortly after its done. Then save up some more money and get a nice ram or something.

I don't understand young people throwing good money after bad, by making "temporary" setups. Then you have to throw more dough at it, just to reconfigure the downpipe, turbo, and possibly the radiator just to go for a couple of months to do it again?!?!?

STOP!! Patience.. Just wait a bit... Jeez. I know you want to boost, but if you want to just giveaway your money, give it to me!! At least I'll put some good use to it, instead of buying more crap because you're pissed you got scammed.....

Just... WAIT.. get the right stuff. there's still plenty of summer left.

TheShodan is right. Take your time and do it right the first time around, so you can avoid major headaches in the long run.

on another note I noticed your from Atlanta. I would love to see a surfer in person, im doing a build myself and the turbocharger im utilizing is a Precision sc6152. I've always wanted to see the how the surfer responds in person. Thinking about getting one in the near future, either that or convince TheShodan to make me a Predator lol.

Honestly, I don't really care about the looks. I could ride the cast for a 6 months a year whatever......then change it up.

Believe me....I have been patient! I've been waiting YEARS for this! Saving for YEARS!! And you're right, I'm ready to boost!

But I mean, I've done some research and talked with the tuning guy and they seem to work out fine for 350-400whp?

So...whats the 'cons' of these cast irons?

All cast manifolds aren't the same; but 1 thing the majority do share (that I've seen) is that they'll be a pita to work with using that 4 bolt turbine housing (especially if it is an a/c setup)

I agree w/ Shodan...do it once. If you want a cast mani permanently, then fine. But there's no need in buying one, adding money to a downpipe dumptube setup to fit it, tunining ...just to change it all in a few months. Just wait it out and do it once.

That's what I've been trying to educate the man about.. I'm really, really, really tryin'.. I'd love to see another happy Surfer owner, but he's gonna shoot himself in the food doing this.... Using that cast will SUCK! I've even shown great Spoolin' performance for manifolds like Calidad.. (He's the poster boy of the season, I'm noticing)

Mac is the man.
I've been talking to him for like 3 yrs about the surfer, i'm sure he got tired of me asking questions once very 3 months as i always checked in to make sure he was still making turbos. lol

Although I always planned for the SS on my GSR ef, I ended up going a little bigger with the GT3540S turbo.

Congrats !

How does this turbo compare to a turbonetics 60-1?

difference in compressor wheel (60lbs/min), very mismatched exhaust wheel (about the size of a stage III -65mm diamter,) and too large of a compressor housing.

Well, as I told Shodan - That day after I was contemplating buy a cast mani, I received a 100 dollar tip at work for getting a raccoon out of an attic!

And I was like fuc it...200 more bucks and I can just get the one that Shodan sent me from spoolinperformance.

So were all good there.

I've got the car and everything up at MPI ready to go under the knife.

Hopefully will be done and on the road by the end of this month.

Thinking of doing a front bumper exit exhaust. :0

I know I know....Its gunna be loud - But I don't care and I want to hear that surfer sp00l

And the car is just going to be a weekend street bully/track car - since I work Mon-Fri their will be no DD of this beast.

Ok...now MAC - what do you have to say about the bumper exit??

For the dump tube exit at the bumper, that's fine. But use a real 3" exhaust with the downpipe all the way back. An actual exhaust out of the side get exhaust gas into the cabin causing headaches and N0x poisoning
