Default Silent Type RS BOV

I'm running a B18C with a T3/T4 turbo at 9 lb.'s of boost with a Greddy Type RS bov (not recirculated) and it seems that no matter what I have the bolt set at I can't hear it blow off. All I hear is the wastegate fluttering like mad...

Any suggestions or reasons to why this is happening?

since it will only make a noise under load for the most part. how did you determine that it was your wastegate fluttering. the rs makes flutter type noise right out the box. funny most people confuse it with comp. surge not wastegate flutter

I based it off of only hearing it on the left side of my car when my bov is on the right, and hearing other peoples type rs not sounding like a flutter but a big whoosh of air.

Wastegates don't flutter. They open or close, and when its open it will make a ton of noise if you have an open dump. If the WG is recirculated, the noise will only change slightly when it opens. But it won't make a fluttering noise.

take it apart and lube the inner diaphram. also make sure the bolt is on pretty loose and has a correct size vac hose hooked up

Yeah, I had heard of people doing that. Did it help at all or change the sound of it or anything?

Also I know mine isn't a knock off.

I had both the ebay and the real greddy one. Work and sound the same. My ebay RS one had a torn diaphram so I borrow my cousin's greddy rs for the mean time. Compressor surge the whole time unless I full throttle it. Got annoying so I just took one of the spring out like I did my ebay one and it worked great. But now I'm rocking the tial bov.

I have this bov myself, i can tell you a few things:

-First you have it set WAY TOO STIFF, i can see in that photo the adjustment is nearly all the way down, i won't be surprised if its literally not opening since your only running 9psi, open it up all the way, then tighten it to about 3/4.
-I run mine at about 12psi and it does not flutter, it just goes wooosh
-I did have a flutter noise and realized that the vacuum hose that goes from the bov to the IM had come off, check that.

So basically check your Vacuum line and loosen that thing and it should make some more noise for you and actually work better
