Default Side mount intercoolers?

Can I use a Eclipse side mount intercooler on a 95 integra turbo setup? If so, how difficult would it be to put one on? Any one try this yet?

i remember checking out my friends 97 gsx and i thought his intercooler was pretty small. But i bet custom piping is all your gonna need to make it work if your set on it, even though it's not worth the trouble.

Yes it can be done. I have a 1st generation eclipse intercooler on my 97 Civic with the Greddy turbo kit. The core is pretty small...my guess is that it's about 8-10 inches long, 8-10 inches high and about 4 inches thick. It mounts on the side (behind the bumper on the passenger side) and requires very minimal modifications to the piping to make it fit the D16 Greddy kit. I'm not so sure when it comes to the other turbo kits out there though.

front mounts are much more efficient....as a matter of fact i would recommend them over a side mount if your going to boost an Integra...

How about i use a side mount, then stick a fan on it so that it sucks the heat away from it?

There was a post about 3 weeks about intercoolers and stealthy setups... One teal eg <hatch or coupe, can't remember> had a nice little side mount that was small but tidy and hidden!

Why are you wanting the side mount as opposed to the FMIC? Price?

I would really consider the consequences of detonation due to lack of cooling over the stealth "I don't have a turbo" look....you can do what another person did and that is to paint it the same color as the radiator so that it looks like an oversized radiator.

See I'm not about keeping my sleeper appeal, I want people to know what's up when they see the sunlight reflect off of my IC, and I want my gauges to be seen, some serious $$ putting into it, why not show it off.

What do the cops care if you have an I/C?

I dont feel its so much the intercooler as other "flashy" items ... its just if they are following you and happen to see your A-pillar full of pretty gauges... or if/when they pull you over they always ASSUME that you're driving a RACECAR. woo woo !

I've had a cop pull me over and ask about my gauges in my ol talon and I played the dumb part and told him i bought the car like that and didn't what they were for. haha. in the meanwhile, my avc-r was sitting there blinking out all my stats heh heh. he ended up letting me go (amazingly!), but, he told me to "take my racecar to the track" and "keep it below 35mph on the street".

if cops are pulling you over just for having an intercooler...thats harassment!...you must be doing something to break the law to have them pull you over
