should i make the radiator fan push or pull???
im putting in a 'custom' radiator and fan setup. the fan will push or pull depending on the way you hook i wire it up. so the question is what is better? the front of the radiator or the back (engine side)? thanks...

front for turbo clearance. other than that, no need on moving them from stock location

Are two cheap, generic single fans decent enough for a turboed teg? Or is the dual FAL really worth the chunk of change it costs?

I don't know if I'm reading his question right but I think you guys misunderstood the question. It sounds like he means which way should he have the fan rotate...not fan placement. I could be wrong though.

He's asking for the placement of the fan. He says "front of the radiator or the back" . As mentioned already, no need to change from the stock location unless you need more room.

if it gets mounted on the front it will have to push, mounted on the engine side it will have to pull.
the question is [or should be]: what side do i mount it on?

Re: should i make the radiator fan push or pull??? (C-man)
Its better to have the fan pull (from behind the radiator). The reason being is when you have a fan push, there is only soo much air that a fan can push before it becomes restrictive. Example, going 80 or 90 mph that front mounted fan is going to restrict air going through the radiator.
Its all about space the cfm on the fans are the same wether they are push or pull. If you need space or want to hide the fans then put them in front, if you don't need space and like looking at your fans then put them in stock location.

a fan is more efficient pushing than pulling and the universal fans dont have a cowl to restrict air flow at cruising speed.

Either way is fine, just make sure you get an appropriate fan for the type of job. In other words, if you pull then get a pull fan, if you push then get on desinged for pushing. It's not as easy as just putting the fan on the other side and reversing the wires to change direction. Get a fan desinged for the job. BTW the Lancer EVOs use push fans and they seem to do fine cooling things.
