Should I buy Cresent's b18c1 block or should I buy the b18a1 longblock form the junkyard down the street? They're both going for 400 bucks...All I'm gonna do was buy the b18a longblock and use the shortblock for an ls/vtec anyways...I'm still resleeving it though...Which would you buy? I'm gonna throw a b16a head on it though....

 

I'd MUCH rather have a GSR block than a LS block. The crank and internals are much better suited for abuse than the LS. Talk him down to 350 and you've got a deal (assuming the crank is in good shape)
