Shimming of oil pump for boosting - is it needed?
did a search nothing came up.. from what I heard if you shim the oil pump you would get high oil pressure during idle.. and that's not that great on the engine.. any idea's about this.. people just told me to get the TODA oil pump.. but that's too much money...
anyways here the question
Is shimming the oil pump really required for boosting?
thanks...

Mine was shimmed slightly, with a single small washer about 1/16th" thick.
It was installed at the same time as an ITR oil pump, and the car makes 90 PSI at cold start. I removed the shim to try to resolve this, but it still makes stupi dhigh pressure. I'm not sure if after warming up, the oil pressure is any higher, but I don't think it is.

Shimming not necessary. Possible to push too much oil into the turbo and wreck the seal. If you decide you know more than me and do it anyway, keep the shim to a MAX of .050" thickness.

thanks for the info would it be reasonable to get like a TODA oil pump?.. I heard it the same as stock pressure but flows more... any inputs?
thanks
Toda oil pump gears work good because they are stronger then the stock gears. Shimmings not that cool because it makes more pressure, but not more volume.
