Default segmented piping

did some searching but came up empty handed. i'm looking for a comparison between a mandrel bent downpipe vs a segmented downpipe. both in 3", if that makes any difference. it seems like the mandrel would win for a smoother flow but i've seen some people use a segmented downpipe so there must be some advantages.

i have no first hand experience, but from what i have heard/read, a lot of people use the segmentes for really tight radius bends. there was also a pic on here of some sort of racecar that used all segments. they said the reason behind it was because the piping thickness was too thin to bend.

regardless, i don't think it acually flows or performs better than mandrel bent piping. it's more of a solution to problems when you can't use, or don't have, the mandrel bends.

just a thought. correct me if i'm wrong!
