Default SCE Copper Head Gaskets

Hey guys-

First time posting in this forum. I am pretty active over in the FI forum of s2ki.com, though.

I have a Laskey 9:1 motor in my S2000, with a gt35r HP Performance turbo kit. Long and the short of it is the HG blew for some reason a few weeks back. I replaced it myself, but did not bleed the system with the heater valve open, and I think that screwed the gasket again.

I am now looking into going with a copper gasket as opposed to OEM layered steel.

Gasket maker SCE has come out with a line of head gaskets that do not require machining of the block or head (see ICS Titan series for the f20/f22c motor).

Just wondering if anyone has had experience with these gaskets, good or bad. Please note the application of use (i.e. - motor, built vs. stock, which series HG did you use (regular "racing" and "titan" models require milling of the block, only "ICS Titan" does not for s2000 applications).

I did email Mike Laskey, and he did not have any personal experience, but recalled hearing that they were not good at sealing coolant/oil leaks, but were very good at sealing compression...

Just wanted some input from fellow Honda applications, to see if coolant/oil sealing is really an issue with these, or not.

Thanks again!

John

People will have headgasket issues for 1001 reasons. The OEM gasket should be more than enough for you but if you keep blowing them, then look into o ringing. Copper gaskets are great but they dont last that long.
