Default Safeguard for over-revving

I noticed that with my new turbo application the car has the ability to over rev mechanicly to past the factory fuel cut level. This could put it in danger of bending a valve and ruining my day. I plan on putting in some GSR cams before I dyno, what other parts could I replace for cheap to give me a little more protection higher up. I wouldn't be revving out to past 8200 I just want the ability to go higher and not valve slap.

Also I've never done valve work, I have done headgaskets can anyone tell me any tips on doing it. I'm guessing by thinking about how they work that you would obviously have to remove the head. Thanks

How about an aftermarket rev limiter? MSD carries a huge selection of ignition upgrades, as well as a "soft" rev limiter. That way, you'll kill two birds with one stone...so to speak.

Hondata offers a full throttle shift limiter
Nice safety option.

I don't think the MSD box could protect me from what I'm worried about, I was in full boost in third and shifted at 7500RPMs, fourth gear didn't catch and my VAFC showed that my RPMs went a lot higher than I would like to speak of. I'm putting the car down for a couple weeks and I'm going to do some testing on it and get other little bugs figured out. The car still idled flawlessly after this happened and would still give smooth power throughout the rpm range.

ef-1 valvesprings and retainers, they' re worth the money and there gauranteed not to float. thats what i have. Pretty easy to install. I've seen it done without the head being taken off also.
