Is it safe to retap the crank?

Default Is it safe to retap the crank?

one of the holes where the flywheel bolt goes in was cross thread... would it be safe to retap that hole? Just wondering if would would be safe to boost on it...

This is on a B16 crank...

Is the motor apart?

If So, I would just get a new Crank or use Heli-Coils.

Take it to a good machine shop and do whatever they tell you. Helicoil is great so is JB weld, but I dont know if you want to goof around like that on the crank.
The machine shop will probably weld and retap to same size. Those bolts have a very skrewed thread pitch, i would ony retap on a fixed bench.
