well the d15b rodlenght is the same as the z6
I was under the impression you could use z6 rods in the d15b

so then why not just pick any aftermarket rod for the z6, theres gotta be plenty.

i recommend eagle after seeing brewerhatches post..
a completely incinerated engine.. but the rod was unscathed, haha.

the rod lenghts are different between D15 and D16's

u cant mix match them

also the D16's bearings are 55mm when the D15's are 45mm

i say call ea of the famous manufactures cust serv and just spend 2 min to ask them if they carry it or not

JDM D15B is different. It uses the larger 1.6 rods with the 45mm big ends.

The d15b has the same rod length - 137mm as a d16z6 but has the same small bearing size of a d15 - 45mm. So you have to get custom one's made. Call pauter or crower they have the specs already on file.

Not true. Trust me, I have built them. I simply hit 5 instead of 4 in my previous post. on me for not proofreading. The rods on the 1.6 have 45mm big ends as well. the mains are 55mm on the 1.6 I believe, with 45mm mains on the 1.5s, the D15B included.

I thought the D15B had the same rods as the Z6 motors, or maybe its the same pistons then..

Pistons are different. Z6 uses P28 pistons, where the D15B uses a shallower dish P08 piston. Rod big ends are the same size, but I didn't measure length when my engine was disassembled.

Why, when I have three motors and 5 transmissions in various states of disassembly in my garage. I have micrometers, and I know how to use them. Damn man, seriously. The B18C only has 45mm rod journals and 55mm mains. If you have a D with 55mm rod journals, I will buy it from you right now. Oh wait, they wouldn't swing through the crankcase unless the stroke was like 65mm.

That would net 1148cc with a 75mm bore.

Ok SO... d16z6 rods are the same as JDM d15b SOHC VTEC rods right? lol
I'm getting a set of LS rods machined to fit my new d15b soon. So then the changes that need to be made to LS rods to fit a d16 are the same changes that need to be made for the LS rods to fit the JDM d15b.

These are the specs I found on here:
D16 Bottom end width is .892" and the pin diameter is 19mm (.784")
B18 Bottom end width is .935" and the pin diameter is 21mm (.826")

So .0125" needs to be milled off each side of the bottom and the top end needs to be re-bushed to 19mm.

Its probably a good idea to take the JDM d15b rods with me anyways to the machine shop eh?
