Default Ring End Gap and Filing

Hi guys,
I have one of those ring filers that has a **** and the ring is placed flat on the device then you push the ring onto the file and spin the crank as it files away. Its this one here

Do i need to deburr the edges that were filed? Do I have to go find a whetstone or a knife carving stone? How come no one ever talks about this?
