not going to work on a diesel... there is no TB to close, so there is no pressure difference. There are a few companys that make electric bov's for diesel use

FROM CUMMINS FORUM....
You have two choices that I know of as far as prefabricated, bolt on...BD Turboguard at around $700 and I believe Engineered diesel (ED) makes one also...not sure and not sure how much. Bd is operated electronically based on apps voltage, ED's is based off of drive pressure/boost differential, I believe. Unfortunately there are no other generic kits for our trucks that I know of, BOV on diesels are still a bit of a novelty and haven't caught on as much as in the gas world (don't misinterpret this as me saying there useless, they do there job)

Now if you want to make your own, cost is up to you, how good at fabbing are you? Your going to need a BOV, a quality unit, like a tial 50mm is gonna run you around 200-220, you may be able to pick up a smaller one or an "off brand" for cheaper but the end result is your still going to have to figure out how to actuate it. Diesels have no thottle plates hence the need for electronics or some sort of drive pressure system. So the rest of the cost is going to be how creative you are.
