Default resistor box

why is it necessary to have a resistor box for injectors above 650cc? or which injectors is it not necessary to have?

high impedence = you don't need one
low impedence = you need a resistor box (or you fry your ecu's injector drivers)

Peak & Hold = 2-3 ohms = you need the resistor box.
Saturated = 12-15 ohms = you dont need the resistor box.

The resistor box itself is simply four seperate high current resistors in a metal heat sink. They should typicaly measure 10-12 ohms.

Edit: Here is a picture of how mine looks and where I mounted it. (Note my "Super Manifold" being used as an oil tee in the background.)

The resistor box was from a junkyard and it had the mounting bracket on it still. Strangely, it fit my need just right... I used a scrap bolt and mounted it on the side of the intake manifold below the brake master cyl. Right now I run RC 550cc injectors but once i get some money saved up again I plan on getting some Precision 880cc injectors instead.

Yes, you would need a resistor box for DSM injectors.

Installing it is very simple... It is just a matter of splicing a few wires. Just knowing which wires you need to splice and where is all their is to it.

Yes, type in resistor box in the search box and you'll find everything u need to know. But i'll help ya this one time......You can go to radio shack and get the 10ohm resistors and wire them inline with the yellow/black colored wires from your injectors. I prefer using a reisitor box though.

10 watt 10ohm resistors to be exact. I also prefer to use the resistor box also just because it makes for a cleaner install.

product placement to the extreme

why make a resistor box from radio shack when they only cost like $3.00 at the junkyard with wiring pigtail..

honda resister boxes measure ~6 ohms - anything in that range should work

why go to the junk and risk getting dirty or mugged, when you can buy one from me for $35

If I remember correctly, mine was somewhere closer to 8-10ohm.

Resistor box > make your own. Heatsink + Mounting bracket all in one owns resistors dangling everywhere.

I agree with ClubSiRacer. They are 10ohm resistors.

because that's a rip off when they only cost $3.00 to pull yourself with a pair of wire snips and a 10mm socket in 4 minutes or less at which time...if you get dirty you seriously need to reconsider working on cars haha

lol true, if ya don't wanna get dirty don't get involved with cars .

As for the resistor box for 35 bucks. I payed 25 for mine like two months ago and it was a steal. The same goes for the DSM injectors i bought, i got them for 50 bucks shipped. Of course a junk yard will let the resistor box go for cheap (they charged me 20 for the CRX one i'm selling) And the junkyard will let DSM injectors go for cheap. However it's the fact that you have to find one of these cars first. There were only 3 hondas with resistor boxes in em and 2 of them were gone from other ppl taking them. I also couldn't find a turbo dsm. the one i did find was stripped to the bone with only the DOHC valve cover laying on the ground. hence if you wanna look at all ur junkyards for this stuff go ahead you can save prolly 50%. However if you want it now then pay the 25 30 bucks for one.

lol!

or I could undercut the both of you and sell the resistor boxes for $15 since I can apparently get them a lot cheaper and they're plentiful at the two yards I visit

hell, there were 6 of each style honda resistor boxes at the south yard this past weekend and I only took two...

gotta luv the digital pimps pawnin their goods
