Problems on car before turbo-Rings were bad on stock motor, put another one in and
blew that one up....
Miles on Car when turboed-have around 6,000 miles on built motor had an old kit on
for around 3,000 miles and on the new one have around
3,000 miles as well.

Horsepower/Torque-251/195 @ 14psi on mustang dyno....
PROBLEMS: Haven't really had any real problems other than working out little glitches. After getting my new kit on and driving around I started hearing this "dinging" sound coming from under the hood and could not for the life of me figure where it was coming from. Then it began to smoke. I later found that the "dinging" was coming from the exhaust housing bolts coming loose and allowing the half moon looking clamp things to "ding" against the housing. This tweaked my center section of my turbo and cause the seals to go bad. Got it rebuilt and put back on and it was running good. Turned up the boost to around 20 psi on the street to do a street tune prior to taking it to the dyno and it was holding fine and killing you in the seat. Took it to the dyno and it wasn't holding boost. Kept cranking the boost controller and it wasnt doing anything. Found out I don't really like manual boost controllers from ebay so next on the list is a nice electronic boost controller to help regulate boost due to their solenoid design. Driving around the highway is great and what not but Im deciding my turbo is too big since I dont get full boost til around 5500-6500 rpm and only reving it to 7500 so theres not too much useable power band. My car is smoking again and I think it may be the damn d series headgasket monster which has come to haunt me. Theres a few problems with mine but overall I love boost and long live the SOHC!!

600 miles with turbo. BEAT to death for all 600. Has oil pressure problems, sprays coolant above 10psi, overheats when it leaks. Not bad for reused HG/bolts/oem clutch. Pulls *UN*like any d16 ever would w/o boost. When you do things right on the outside, weak internals will 'sqeal', but not 'tap out'.
10psi at 4k rpm, pulls past 7.5k, makes me smile. Everything will be fixed by August.

Problems on car after turbo- since i've had it, starter went out, radiator blew (nothing turbo related, both easy fixes)

Horsepower/Torque- about 300whp/280wtq
the previous owner put 15k miles on it in a year, i've put 10k on it in the past 6 months and and i drive it daily, i don't get on it too hard but she sees at least 5psi every time i get on the hwy, lol. no probs besides normal wear and tear...but now the turbo seals are starting to go.
i used to have a gt28r setup on my last 1994 db8 - fully built b18c1, i barely broke it in (1000 or so miles on it) before i totalled it
. it ran great too. i pulled the motor/tranny and sold it + insurance $$$ to get this one. once this turbo goes...i'll put the gt28r back on, or get a disco potato or 2871r, because i liked the response better on the BB turbo for the type of driving i do (100% daily driver, mixed city and hwy).
as long as you build it right and keep up with your maintenance...you're good to go. who says turbo hondas aint reliable
