Recommendation for a good lightweight flywheel.
Anyone have any experience? I just placed the order for the Action 2MD clutch set for my H22a, but hear about warping problems with daily driving on aluminum flywheels. Should I stay stock? I really want to get a lightweight flywheel and install it with my clutch and soon to be quaife LSD, but are there any non warping ones? Clutchmaster? Fidanza? Unorthodox Racing? Clutchnet? dont remember the rest, Thanks again guys

Im guessing you guys are recommending these because you own them, but are you have any problems with the aluminum flywheel warping? This true or a myth?

Fidanza all the way. They actually make Clutchmasters and several other companies flywheels.

I like my Zex flywheel. I had it resurfaced after 3,000 miles of VERY hard driving and it wasn't warped.

What about the difference between chromoly vs aluminum? I was reading on the optauto site about the jun flywheel ($450 for h22a) and it was made of chromoly steel and will NEVER warp like aluminum. Is this true? What are the drawbacks of this? Is it even lightened? This is what it says:
JUN One-Piece Forged Chromoly Flywheels are one piece forging 100% Chromoly Steel. They are made from a single material of differing properties. They are 200% stronger than stock OEM flywheels and are resistant to expansion and contraction which are caused by extreme heat. JUN Flywheels will not warp or distort like aluminum. The JUN Flywheels are precision computer machined with optimum weights for each engine application. Ideally suited for any racing application requiring fast acceleration and deceleration of throttle. JUN One-Piece Forged Chromoly Flywheels are designed by JUN Engineers, thoroughly tested, and race proven. Used on the JUN Hyper Lemon Skyline GTR, JUN Hyper Lemon Silvia, JUN Super Lemon Civic.

i have the CM, and bought it at GBC for less than 300. you cant beat that. i have a few thousand miles on it, at 270+ whp, and the only problem i ever had was when a clutch melted and messed up the replaceable friction disk. easy fix.

Don't buy a JUN flywheel! They have problems starting the car sometimes. However you can cut one or a couple of the teeth out to make it work, i forgot how. Ask any JUN flywheel owner if they're flywheel gives them problems when starting their car. 99% will say yes!

Don't go with the TypeR flywheel it is not light enough. I had a stock flywheel lightened to 12lbs and now I wish I had bought an aluminum one that was 7.5-9.5 lbs.
Although the DSM guys seem to have trouble with warping on the Aluminum fly wheel due to the steel insert expanding and contracting at a different weight it seems to be a better choice for the Honda's.
