Re-sleeving block from GE
is the cost to get a B18C block re-sleeved with 84.5mm pistons and with 81mm pistons the same ??
or is it the one with 84.5mm pistons is more expensive ??
whats actually involved in putting 84.5mm pistons , all i know is u have to get custom headgasket made up , but what else ??
cuz i have to tell my engine builder in here , they dont know ****
u guys reckon it will worth the hassles ?
cheers for that

Re: Re-sleeving block from GE (VTEC_SiR)
I believe it was $125 extra for the bore and hone on my block. Its a good idea to have the combustion chamber of the head enlarged to match the 84.5mm bore. Otherwise the flat spots around the combustion chamber will be detonation prone.

the cost of the sleeving itself would be the same. either way you will have to bore and hone the block to match the pistons. there is one thing you will need to keep in mind though... the combustion chambers will need to be enlarged to whatever bore size you end up with (if it's larger than 81mm).. which ended up costing me about 350 (with the valve job.) get the head gasket from cometic. they make honda head gaskets for custom bore sizes. and is it worth it?? i say if you're gonna go through the trouble of tearing your block apart and resleeving it... hell yea!! it's free horsepower AND TORQUE from that point.
