Radiator hose huge HELP
Right now if is fairly cool out side. I have a boosted 1990 integra, it has a half size radiator. I was driving and it just overheated a little so I stoped and the overflow res. was filled. The upper Rad. hose is puffed out triple it size and teh radiator is cool to the touch. Could this be thermostat?

Replace that hose ASAP. I had the same exact issue happen to me on my way back from a trip. Luckily I had the hood off (long story), and when the hose exploded I had coolant all over my windshield so I knew immediately. Also, bled your coolant system again cause there must be an air bubble in there or something.
Orientation: Flip the hose over and the side closest to the rip is where it would be coming out of the head.

Yeah man thats what it looks like, minus the exploded part. I just ordered some Samco hoses. I just need to figure out why it is doing this. It overheated once today and put so much coolant in the overflow res. that it overflowed. There is obviously alot of pressure somewhere. I just dont know where.

No kidding. Luckily I was running distilled water at that time, but there was still some residual coolant in there. My windshield looked like I had not washed it in years haha

check your radiator cap. i think theres theres something wrong with your cap. pressure is too high. or maybe theres compression leakage to your coolant wall.

also, be sure to get all of the air out of your system, this will ballon the F out of old hoses as well.

That, just happened to mine about a week ago. I was on the way home (5 mins away) and the temp skyrocketed out of nowhere, I had to crank the heat on high to lower the temp. When I popped the hood the reservoir had overflowed with coolant, and the rad was just about empty. I ordered a new rad and hoses and keeping a close eye on it til they come in. Nothing like keepin a bottle of prestone in the car...you know, for decoration

Exactly right. There is no reason the pressure should ever be that high in your coolant system to explode a hose even if your overheating or have air in the system. The Rad cap is a pressure release valve.
