daym!!!!

i just got back from the illegals. police came and panic everywhere. some of us met at a gas station a few miles away and we chilled there. we took a look at my engine... and one of my boys told me it sounded like my car was detonating. he asked me about my fuel setup... then i realized... for almost a month... ive been driving... and ive never heard the fuel pump buzzin that i was used to.

thats when i realized... "oh ****... my fuel pump aint working! ive been racing all this time... feeling sluggish... wondering why my car had backfire... and its the daym airtex pump!"

any of you bump into this problem? thank goodness my engine isnt blown. but im worried i may have some minor internal damage that i dont know about yet.

whats some worse case scenarios that any of you have experienced or heard about... when boosting without a functional inline fuel pump!!!!

 

I had the same thing happen. At the track I noticed that I was losing just over 20 psi of fuel pressure at WOT! And I was wondering why my fuel pump was so much quieter than my freind's, who has the exact same one. Luckily for me I had not been driving it hard for a while. Clutch break in along with some other things had kept me off WOT driving for almost a month prior to that. Hopefully you got lucky and all is fine. Needless to say I am now installing larger injectors so I don't have to run such horrendously high fuel pressures.

 

yup... that sounds like a plan. ive just been too lazy to do it. hehe hopefully everythang is ok with my car. i just fixed the fuel pump today and i hear the hinging noise again. YAY! i actually missed that deformed blinging airtex noise.

 

I ran out of gas on NOS......blew #3 piston

 

NOS? thats usually happens. i didn the same to my legend.
