Quick question about tuning?
Ok, I will be building a D16A SOHC turbo motor for my 90 civic. My question is that I will build it to run plenty of boost, but I have read a few things about tuning and when I am done building the motor is it gonna be ok to start it with out any tuning (fmu, hondata, piggy back Ecu) only using a stock Si or Ls ecu? I will be taking the car down to someone to get it tuned and have a Ecu put in for my build up. Just want to make sure everything is in and there is no leaks. If anyone can help that would be great.
I replied in your other post.
If it is just to start the car up to check for leaks from the turbo, etc...then yes you can use the stock injectors and ECU. Just dont rev the **** out of it while it's idling. You might even be able to drive it IF YOU STAY OUT OF BOOST and maybe even stay out of low vacuum. It is very very risky to drive it with stock injectors annd ECU, but it can be done.

I agree with the others... When I get my car inspected I have to remove my obd1 ecu and 450 injectors and put the stock ecu and injectors back in and drive it for a few days to get the obd2 ecu in the "ready" mode. I leave all of the turbo stuff on it and have no problems because I stay completely out of boost and drive like a granny. You should be fine as long as you stay smart.
