Default Quick Question about LS block

If anyone remembers I blew my b18b1 block a few weeks ago. That was out of a 94 teg. I found a 92 motor at the junk yard so I can get my car back on the road until I get my block resleeved and built back up. My question is will the 92 LS block which is a b18a block bolt right up like my 94 block? Or will I need a differnent harness and motor mount? I have an AEM EMS in it. Any help on this before tommorow would be great. Thanks

just because the 92 integra and 94-95 integra are a different generation doesn't mean the OBD is different. 1992-1995 = OBD-I. It doesn't matter if it's a civic or not. Or Integra or not. If it's in those years, it is the same plug-wise. So the dizzy will be the same no matter what. Hell when my distributor went out (93 integra) i got a 5-finger from a local pull-your-own out of a 1995 SOHC civic and it works perfectly. Go figure, eh?

as far as bolting in, the actual driver's side mount itself is different, but everything else structure-wise is the same between the 2 engines. only real differences are slight head design (and slight means SLIGHT) and cam differences. nothing that will affect you at all. b18b heads bolt right onto b18a's. bseries = bseries.

Thanks guys for your replies. I went to look at the motor today and it was pretty beat up. He wanted 400 for it. He had a 95 with 40,000 on it for 500 so I went with that. I will prob kick myself in the end. But at least my car will be running until I get my other block rebuilt.

i don't know why you'd kick yourself, that's actually a pretty decent price for that kind of mileage. most JDM's are unknown mileage (anyone who says it's 30k or less without the cluster to prove it is a liar) and usually go for around 600-900 depending on year. so you got a fairly decent deal outta that one. good to hear you'll be up and running again. when I get back from my briefing on the shuttle i'll be changing my tie rods and for the time being i'm driving a crappy 10-year-old ford f150. i miss my car.

Check the specs on the cams, they are IDENTICLE. The only different is the intake manifold and the ecu program. And as far as I kno, theres no difference in the mounts... never heard of that before.

Thieves

apparently you don't know what a pull-your-own is....it's a junkyard. where you pull your own parts, then tell them what you got, and then pay for it. I figured since I was paying for 2 doors and rear hubs (nearly $500), they could throw in the distributor for free. especially since that yard doesn't warranty electrical parts at all, and if you pay $150 for it and it doesn't work you're **** outta luck. think before you flame; otherwise you'll end up being the one who's burned.

tard or not, i'm a well-respected member of my air force unit, and apparently at least a decently-respected member of this site. the day i give a ***** what a trial user thinks of me will never come. i'm happy to defend your right to call me 3rd-grade names with my life. you're welcome, and let's give the thread back to the ones trying to help the guy, eh? if you wanna try and belittle people, do it privately. publicly doing so only makes you look immature, especially when you just completed your first month of membership. car-savvy or not, you've still been around this site a lot less time than many of the people i've seen you belittling. it's unnecessary and unprofessional, so keep it out of here. i have yet to find anyone who goes to a PYO boneyard and pays for everything they keep.

This thread is about the LS block since someone brought up cam specs..
The B18a from 92-93 LS,GS,RS's have the same camshafts as the B18b's.
The B18a from 90-91 LS,GS,RS's have camshafts that are less aggressive.
The 90-91's are rated at 130hp, and the 92' and up are rated at 140hp.
Ive had both on the dyno and I'd say its 5% less output to the wheels with the 90-91's camshafts.
