All depends what size turbo you have. My friend had a 2nd gen eclispe with a greddy type s and he could rev in neutral to pop it off. On the other hand with my i had a t3/t04e with the hks ss. I could not pop it off in neutral

it doesn't matter if it's ghey or not, his BOV should be working, and I bet when everyone put their first turbo kit in they wanted to hear the BOV a couple times, including me, and you did too (don't lie, it's really ok).

what do you think he was going to do, sit there for an hour and rev his engine. I meant like once or twice maybe even three times. and I guess you took the lie option there!!! Either way i don't care and you obviously care too much goob

Re: quick BOV question.................help !!! (JusT a Cx)
The real answer is...it depends.
It depends if the pressure balance between the vacuum side of the diaphram when compared to the boost side of the diaphram is right on the threshold of breaking over or not. it also depends if your turbo can make boost in neutral, most apps do not make any substantial boost without engine load.
Simply, if the BOV is really sensitive to vacuum changes it can be made to blow-off in neutral. A tight BOV or one which requires a large differential between the two sides of the throttle plate will usually not blow-off in neutral.
So, 90% of the time the BOV should NOT blow-off in neutral, but some apps that build boost in neutral or have sensitive bovs' can.
