Default Quick advice....

Hey... I'm about to drop a prelude motor in a '97 civic cx and boost it..... and I have o decide which one.

I found an amazing deal on a h23 full swap... $1200. I was going to do an h22, but for this deal.... would it be worth it to boost the h23 instead? I know the tranny has taller gears... I can't decide, but I have to know by tomorrow if I want it. 160 vs 190 horses, and there seems to be a little less turque on tha motor.... but It'll be turebo right off hte bat (dragIII kit)

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

thanks

if money is an more of an option than power, go with the h23.. that is a really good deal

If you don't want to run into the hassles of wiring up the VTEC, and tuning around the VTEC x-over, then go for a straight H23. You'll get more displacement and a strong block (closed deck). Of course you'll need to resleeve the H23 if you want to drop in forged pistons, but that's with all of the H series blocks.

It's a strong block, don't get me wrong. The only disadvantage would be that there isn't a strong aftermarket support for the 2.3. But then again, you really don't need much to make it produce big numbers. :D
