Default Quick .57trim question

Okay so earlier in the day i had a conversation with a buddy of mine about a car that was at at h20i (yes, we honda owners went to h20i) back in september and it was a 99 Saturn sl2 turbo if anyone remembers.

to make a long story short, he sent this text to me..

is there any validity to this? I've used a t3/t4 .57trim on an old b20 setup so im fimiliar with the turbo, and i'd like to think its one of the more common turbos out there. but is there any truth to them not actually being .57 trim while they are advertised as so?

car in question...
BUILD:
Stock block/head, forged rods/pistons, turbo cams. Electromotive TEC GT standalone street tuned by myself (very conservative timing and a **** idle I didn't have time to fix).
T3/T4 57 trim @ 17psi, open dump, 3" downpipe, Synapse BOV, TiAL 38mm, 72lb injectors, ACT 6 puck..
Rear disc swap with hawk hps pads, stainless lines, full poly bushing set, agility race coilovers, 205/50/15 dunlop direzza star specs, 2.5" IC piping/ebay FMIC, fluidyne rad, etc etc

Hasn't been dyno'd or drag'd on 17psi

Sorry to make this a stupid thread. I'd justt like to know if i was in the wrong

You're not making much sense in your inquiry. Are you asking if a T3/T04E with 58mm inducer and 75mm exducer with a 57 "trim" in a stage III exhaust housing is......common? It depends upon the enthusiast form. For Hondas , yes, for DSM, they like the same exducer with a 50 trim, others may vary.

Please clarify what you're asking here.

I was just under the impression that when someone says t3/t4 .57 trim its actually a .57 trim and not a .48/.53 like my friend said. i was just trying to clarify for myself that what he was saying is true or not.

sorry for not being very striaght forward, its confusing me as well.

those numbers refer to housing size.

.48 would be the a/r of the turbine housing, not the trim. .53 is the a/r of the compressor housing, not the trim.... trim is only determined by physically measuring the wheels.
