Do all Golden Eagle sleeved blocks come with this support around the sleeve? http://overboost.com/pix.asp?i...2.jpg
I found a Golden Eagle sleeved LS for sale but it doens't have this support. Is it safe to run 20+ lbs. on this type of open deck sleeve? All the GE sleeved blocks I have seen come with this support. Also, the block is not o-ringed, do you think a good local machine shop would be able to o-ring it? Thanks.

i think ge now offers two types of resleeves one type of a econco sleeve and then there normal gorrilla sleeves, the gorrilla ones are the ones with the brace in the water jackets. Thats the one you want. The other one is not worth it IMO
all sleeved blocks have some sort of support around the sleeve...that's the whole point of having it done. GE uses those tabs, darton and aebs fill up the whole area around the sleeve, save for the coolant passages.

Not all sleeved block have supoprt on the upper portion of the sleeve.

Darton has 3 levels of sleeved closed deck open deck with tab support, open deck without.

your wrong bud,
there are 3 stages to darton sleeves. open deck, another version of the open deck, and lastly the closed deck one (which is basically a block guard and sleeves).
it does not go all the way down the jacket.
ge has two stages now too, one econo sleeve w./ no support tangs and the original sleeves which do have the tangs. the non tanged one is 100bux cheaper.
rs machine uses an open deck on all their sleeves but im pretty sure if u ask nicely you can get them to put a block guard on too.
