Default Question on vacuum reading on my boost gauge?

The reading I get on my boost gauge at idle is at 500 mmHg. This is from apex and I believe a good vacuum reading is at 12-15 (correct me if I'm wrong) from an autometer gauge. Let me know what you non US spec gauge user get and tell me how you can tell if you have a vacuum leak.

Mine sits at 540 mmHg vacuum on my greddy gauge / AVC-R.

So, does that mean I have a leak somewhere or am I still on the average reading. Does low vacuum reading hurt performance and can you specify any symptoms for future reference?

Make sure that you are taking the reading with A/C off, fans off, headlights off, heater off, and radiator fans off... else it will be inaccurate.

My Greddy gauge reads 500 with A/C on (its been on alot lately), and 600 while idling (no A/C). Under braking I may see 700.

Yeah, everything is pretty much turned off. From cold starts to just idleing at a stop light, it reads 500 mmHg. So, am I still on the ok range then? Is that pretty much the average reading on most of the turbo cars out there? From 500-540 mmHg?
