Default Question about Hondata and timing?

Whats up all,

I'm in the process on boosting my b18c1. My fuel managment will be hondata s200 program. After doing some research, I have found out that timing has to be pulled back as boost is increased. My question is...with the s200 program..will this be done automatically? If so..how? Temperture sensor of some sort? I'm new to the forced induction setup any info would help! peace!

You or your tuner can set up the amount of timing retarded by lbs of boost. Example 1 degree for psi. It's user adjustable.

Correct, the person tuning can use thw wizard in the software to put a retard of whatever per pound of boost. I would recommend starting out with .75 and tuning from there.

IMO u should start off with about 1 degree of timing retard per pound of boost. its about 13 to 15 degrees of max timing which is safe just in case you go alittle lean while tuning. then work on your fuel stting till you get your a/f just the way u like it.then you can go back and add timing. but always keep an eye on your a/f. adding timing will change your ratios abit. on most street setups i usually prefer about .75 to .73 degrees per pound of boost this will land you at about 18-20 degrees max timing. as a rule of thumb most hondas dont make power beyond this amount of timing.

thats my .50 cents
