i tried searching but i found nothing that really answered my question. I plan on putting a test pipe on my car and i'm sure that it will trip the CEL light. Does this CEL light affect the performance of my motor? Should i buy a test pipe with a o2 bung? Should i get muffler shop job, and tin foil wrap the o2 sensor? Is wrapping it with tin foil going to affect my car later when i get a hondata or some other type of fuel management? I dont want to buy a cat, where is a good place to get a 3" test pipe if i order one with an o2 bung? It would be great if you guys could answer the q's for me.

 

I asked this question (about the CEL) a month or two ago and responses i got all said that the CEL does not affect the performance of your ECU at all, just trips the light.

It doesn't affect performance. I have my secondary O2 sensor just sitting in my car, and I'm not getting a CEL.

 

what i am doing, i ordered my 3'' piping off JCwhittney.com check spelling??
they have U bent, 45 and 90 degree angles. we are making our exhaust piping and turbo piping.. its made for exhaust so why wouldnt it be ok for keeping out heat of your engine??

Got my test pipe from them. Very fast delivery and its a good test pipe with both O2 bungs (OBDII). CEL is on with a code 1 but I am not that worried about it right now as I will soon be boosted and I think the "missing link" will kill my CEL.
