I'd stick with the quaife, they are indestructable and you already have it.

Between the 2 I would go with Quaife but I would go with Mark Williams or Nitro.

Why would you go with anything else for a full drag/ dragstrip ONLY car? SPOOL!

that's what i was thinking...Quaife is a limited slip...a spool is well...NO SLIP...
i can get the two swapped at no cost...so spool seems to be where i am leaning towards...the only thing appealing about the quaife is that it's warrantied for life

have you heard about people breaking axles with a spool? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard they go all over the place

snap an axle, and god hold on! But a spool saves a lot of rotating weight, and gives you full lock, which a quaife never does.

The spool works good on the track, but is a real pain in the *** driving around on 28" slicks through the pits!! We run a quaife and have never had any problems with it. Much easier on the axles too. It must work as we have cut a 1.38 60ft. and a bunch of low 1.4's.

That doesn't make any sense. He said he could swap them at no cost, so he wouldn't be wasting any money. And if he stuck with the quaife and it belw up, he'd probably want to utilize the lifetime warranty (one of the reasons he might stick with the quaife).

opps.i didnt read his later post saying that he could swap them at no cost,oh well, maybe this will make better sense to you...why waste the time and extra labor of splitting the tranny to make the swap when there is nothing wrong with the quaife

How much do the nitro spools run at $$ price wise.

If I can get the Nitro spool for a good price is it worth it better then quaife.

Jojo Callos is on 2 seasons with his quaife. I think that a total locking unit is not the way to go anyways. Its all good for a rear drive car, but we have to steer our front wheel drive cars. What happens when you have to steer going down the track? You make one wheel spin faster then the other....makes you loose traction. The torqe biasing of a Quaife also is very helpful in my opion. Also yeah, if you break an axle with a spool....Hold on to your steering wheel cause your going towards the wall. Its funny, a welded diff. is illegal...but a spool isnt? ess. the same thing.

We keept breaking ring gears with the prodrive. After some testing we found that when we bolted the prodrive in the bolts wouldnt go all the way threw. Not a big deal because its thicker for support. But we after breaking so many ring gears we put the quaife back in and hadnt broken a ring gear yet.

The only thing we could figure out was that the prodrive would flex when you put 700whp to it. I may be wrong, but that is my opinion on it.

QUAIFE all the way........the spool has twice the shock load on your axles/tranny as the quaife........

Buy your discounted Quaifes from me. OK, I know that was a shameless plug but with all the endorsements, I couldn't resist.

the welded Diff is illegal because welding the gears weakens them, making them prone to snapping as opposed to the spool which is a solid billet piece. as you mentioned, snapped axel/diff = ride into the wall

what kinda of axles are you superfast guys that run quaife using? dont most big hp axles require you to run a custom spool?

If you run Nitro or Mark Williams stuff, they use their own spools. The extreme suspension axles you retain what ever you want...Jojo uses a Quaife and I think Jotech uses their stuff as well with a Quaife. I use a Quaife and DSS 5's on my car.
