Project Maddness!!! Part 2...
Here's a little update for those who have been asking...
I got all my parts in at the end of last week and finally got some assembly done in the past 2 days. I spent about 8 hours on it yesterday and maybe 5 or 6 today. I got the whole bottom end put together now, and put the balence shafts back in just to fill the holes.
I figure I got about another full week and I should be ready to start breaking it in and then it's off to the dyno to get some tuning in and put down some new numbers just in time for winter.
Here's some eye candy for everyone...
I got some more on the camera still but I'll save the rest of the buildup pictures for part 3. Stay tuned... ;D

my guess is assembly loooob, but some very nice cross hatches for the hone!
I would never trust myself to assembly a short block. to you. btw, what motor is that? an H series?

Re: Project Maddness!!! Part 2... (tegasaurus)
Yeah the green shyte is just some Fedral Mogul assembly lube. It's a JDM h22a block with Darton iron sleeves installed by GE.
It's funny I knew nothing about Hondas 2 years ago and just from being on here 24/7, making some friends at local tuner shops, and searching the archives and a few other boards I built my whole car myself. Everything from the suspension to to motor swap, to turbo. I wanted to make the first h22a civic in town and I did, then I wanted the first boosted honda, let alone turbo/h22/civic in town, I did, now I want to make the fastest street legal honda around, and I'm getting there. About 8 months ago I couldn't even tell ya how a turbo worked. I have been just deciding what I wanted to do and then researching the hell out of it.
I popped my h22 from boosting on the stock internals, and decided I wanted to rebuild it myself. I have built a bunch v8's in the past but never a honda so I figured I'd give it a try. I have a helms, and all the tools I could ever need. I am a liscensed toolmaker so I have no problem with tolerances and mesuring specs and such, so I'm just taking my time reasearching everything, and trying to do it right.
Hopefully all goes well and after some tuning this will hold together and make some good numbers..

Well I was running a t3/t04e .57/.63 before it popped so I am gonna run that for awhile until I can afford to start upgrading to something better. After this I'm gonna be poor for awhile..lol

Forgive my ignorance, but do H22's come stock with the block girdle or the "balance shafts"(I think we're talking about the same thing here).

Yeah the "block girldle" is stock. It's acctually the oiling system for the main bearings but it also serves to strenghten the bottom end aswell.
The balence shafts are on the side of the motor and run in the same direction as the crank. There the two little shafts on the side of the crank in this picture...

Re: Project Maddness!!! Part 2... (spoolinlude)
To get this thing back together so I can have my daily driver back... bumming rides and borowing cars is getting old real quick.
Here's my setup before it died so mostly evrythng will stay the same for awhile untill I get some funds again. I need new injectors, and a fuel pump but mostly the same setup.
