prodrive pump gears question??
Have question on the pump gears if anyone have any comments.
The prodrive pump gear look identical to the oem gears except the inner gear has an engrave " prodrive " lettering. The outer gear look totally stock. How would you examine if the outer gear is prodrive?
Second question.
I have noticed on my prodrive pump gears that the inner gear can only fit with prodrive outer gear, it will not fit in with oem pump gear but oem inner gear can go in both oem and prodrive outer gear. Is this normal?

I would recommend sticking with the stock gsr oil pump. I have heard of quite a few pro drive gears breaking and I've never had a problem with a stock gear.
Really? I have only heard good things about them, I actually did a search from previous post see what people say and have not found any negative feedback unless I missed some of it.
The gear is identical in size, weight, and design. The grain on the gears are like the same too.

just dont run them with methanol setups they are okay product for stock oil pump setup just make sure you check the clearances with a feeler gauge like vaportrail did. ITs always good thing they sent him the wrong one.

I also stick with stock just because it works and plus i usually replace the motor after so mnay passes anyways.

Im going to be on 116-118 so with my car being a street/track I suppose the PD oil gear should still be used then? I have a 55 gal drum of 116 sitting at the shop waiting to be burned
Let me know if you think its alright to run it or if I should just run a stock GSR pump. Thanks!

What about h-series prodrive gears? I bought mine because I heard that h-series gears fail. A lot.
I looked at it as cheap insurance for the rest of this expensive *** motor.

For longevity’s sake should I stick with a stock gsr pump or utilize the prodrive gear?
I dont have the money or time to tear down after every or every other event..
Because for as long as I can remember everyone was saying that if you start achieving over 400-500 whp you would shatter oil pump gears. Was this due to harmonics? detonation? has the switch of beliefs to going back to stock because of better engine management?
Im not angry or anything.. I just want to know what to run.. I dont want the **** to shatter on me
Thanks,
Adam

as long as you measure your clearances with the prodrive, as they recommend, you should have no problems with their gears. All you need is a simple set of feeler gauges, and a Helms manual, both of which you should have if you are assembling your motor anyway.
