Price for a turbo install.........
after looking around and researching it looks like $700 is the average price for a turbo install.
So would $1000 be too much to install a turbo and a hondata stage 4b ?
and add an extra $400 for unlimited dyno tuning to that. is that too much ?????
what do yall think.

wow
i saved a lot of money on installing the turbo with the help of my dad and a few friends
i never even looked around for prices on an install but i knew it would be expensive
i just didnt think it was $700, i was thinking more like 400 or 500
if you can,
do it yourself
its a whole lot more rewarding when you get it done

acuraintegraman: my boi took his car to speedcraft for his engine swap and they stole some stuff off of his old engine. i dont mind paying more for an install as long as i can trust the shop and know that they'll do it right, but i've heard alot of horror stories about them, and atlantic is charging a 1000 juss for the turbo alone.
i wish i could do it myself but i dont have the time, knowledge, or tools
anybody else have any thoughts on this.
thanks

if you don't mind the drive down to Tampa, I could do the install and dyno tuning of it for you. If you are interested, just email me at vapor1@tampabay.rr.com. Promise I'll cut you a great deal
When moding this heavily its always always always gunna cost more then you think, at one point or another. When I got my turbo installed it was gunna cost me 700. Well when I got the 1200 dollar bill I freaked out. Well I'm one of the lucky ones that the Drag Gen III kit takes up all the room in the engine compartment. I had to get a different fan, have a Radiator overflow fabed, stuff moved and tons of r fabed fittings. I paid a hell of alot more then anyone should have paid but my kit was a pile of crap too. I don't know anyone that had to do so much fab and replacement on this board. I still love the Turbo though, it was totally worth it. So I guess when you have it done look at the installers previous work and then make sure you have extra just incase. I would never (Personally) install a turbo cause I don't know enought about this to do it right. My install would cost 3000 bucks I bet, cuase I would blow up my motor with a shoddy install. Don't get me wrong I would love to have done my install but I was scrapin the bottom of the barrel as it was so.......
Good luck Future boosters, don't get carried away (unless you have the money for a new block and membership at Club Si). And May the Darkside be with you, Always

$400 out here is vegas is the going rate for a turbo install. Do it yourself, it's not hard at all. I will be cheaper to buy all the tools you need than pay some guy $700 to install the kit
dragonsmp- what kind of tools did you need for your install? I have been thinking of installing a dragIII with one other friend myself. Did you have any knowledge of installing a turbo before you did it? How long did it take you?
i found a shop to do it up here for $500. it wasnt a bad install but i think it couldve been better though.
i dont think its that easy to install a turbo kit.. but i dont think its that hard either. doin it right is the main thing. thats why i chose to take it to a shop. i didnt know anyone available or locally that could help me install it the right way.
$700 is too much.

Any Craftsman 100pc. set will do as far as tools go. The install is very easy. It's just time consuming, especially the first time. Expect it to take 2 guys, with tools, jack stands, etc. about 15-30 hours your first time. I've performed an intall in 5 hours (with the help of a lift and air tools), but I really enjoy taking my time so I can be thorough. If you do perform the install yourself, it can be the best investment you'll ever make.
