Default Precision Intercooler endtank question

Hey guys I am looking to buy a precision intercooler size 26 3/4" L x 6 1/4" H x 3 1/2" D (shown in pic).

How will this be on a 1991 CRX Si? (max 300 hp)

Will the endtanks coming out of the middle of the sides be a problem mounting?

Will the size be a problem?

Anything I should know about mounting it that may hold me up?

Is this a good intercooler?

Whats a good price for a new one?

Thanks!

not unless you ziptie the charge pipes to it

Will the size be a problem?
no

don't ziptie it, make brackets

Call Precision or look on the FI sponsor board

I just installed this IC on my crx.

Fits really good, full bumper beam, bumper needed some shaving. I just cut the tab off the bottom of the beam.. centered it, and made to tabs on the bottom of the beam and bolted it up.

Yes alot of people use Precision intercoolers and yes they are good products. I am currently using the 600hp model and the intake temps on the dyno during a hot summer day started around 95* and by the end of the pull they were 82* I paid $350 for the 600hp model brand new.

Thanks for all the replies.

One last thing. Is the intercooler big enough? Should I get one rated for more horsepower? It seems fairly small but I dont think my setup will be making over 300whp. (t3/t4 60trim .63 a/r on 8lbs most likely)

yea it might be under 300 @8psi, but what happens when you get the boost bug like everyone else and go to 15psi.....

You should be ok with that size.

They under-rate their stuff a bit for worstecase senario (350hp one holding 350whp in a very hot climate).

There is a fine line between where it looses its efficency and you get negative effects like pressure drop, its always important to choose the right size intercooler.

The IC will work very well for you, plus it isnt easy at all fitting them under EF bumpers without destroying the bumper or beam, or doing alot of custom work to get it to sit where you want it.

Goodluck, ill try and get some pics shortly.
