Default Pre boost/Maintenancing

Guys..before I am getting boosted, I have made a check list of things to do/check/replace/purchase before boosting. Any other tips/ideas on other things to take care of before I am boosted? Expected boost date is July 22nd.

This will be my boosted setup:

**2000 Civic EX/2001 stock B18b motor**
1) SFP Manifold
2) T3/T04e 57trim .63ar
3) Tial 35mm wastegate
4) 2.5 Custom DP
5) RC 750cc injectors
6) Hondata s200b
7) Walbro 255lph-HP intank fuel pump
8) Greddy Type S BOV
9) Precision 350hp Intercooler
10) Stock Fuel Rail and fuel regulator
11) Stock Civic radiator (will replace with C&R after turbo install)
12) Fast-Turbo Oil Lines
13) Greddy Block Sandwich Adapter
14) 7psi lo-boost setting(daily)/10psi hi-boost setting(When chasing an LS1 )
15) Greddy Profec B w/remote switch
16) Greddy Turbo Timer
17) Greddy 52mm Guages (boost, oil pressure, egt, water temp)

Things That I have or will do/check/replace/purchase prior to boosting:

1) Convert to mobil1 10w/30 motor oil
2) Valve Adjustment
3) Replace distributor cap & rotor (Honda OEM)
4) Compression check (clean and consistent across the board )
5) Replace plug wires (Magnecore 13mm wires)
6) Replace spark plugs (NGK 1-step colder plugs)
7) Replace 2.25 crushbent exhaust (2.5 K-teller catback)
8) Oil pan gasket (Honda OEM)

Do you guys see anything else I may wanna do before I am boosted?

Khoi

How much power do you plan on making? How many miles on your motor? That list looks good, may even be overkill....

34,000 miles on the motor. And I am looking anywhere from 220-240 on 7psi and 260-290 on 10psi..atleast thats what espanol said I could expect..hehe..VSV motorsports is doing my tuning

HAHA..i was hoping that it would be, but my ultimate goal right now is to make this a very reliable and dependable boosted honda. I always hear people having problems after being newly boosted..so I hope to eliminate as many problems as I can. I say the initial stages of getting boosted are always the most critical, wouldn't you agree?

Already replaced fuel filter 6 months ago

And as for the welding..nope..there is gonna be no welding needed for my setup..everything is just sitting on my bedroom floor waiting to be bolted. Well, I take that back, the only thing left to weld is my oil pan. I'm welding a fitting for the oil return line, but thats already gonna be taken cared of when I get to Dallas to install it.

You might wanna start installing the things that you can right now. This way if you run into problems youre not faced with all of the problems at once. (fuel pump, turbo timer, gauges, ect...) Good Luck!

Watch out for that flexible exhaust tubing. They like to rust/leak pretty soon after you install them.

I ENDED UP DOING TBELT, WATER, OIL PUMPS, HEADGASKET W/ HEADSTUDS ON A 75K MILE MOTOR AND MADE 300/270 (AT 12.5 PSI ON THE SAME TURBO) AND DROVE IT FROM MARCH TILL NOVEMBER WITH NO PROBS..

I HAVE 2 MORE THINGS TO ADD TO UR LIST:

1) GM 3 BAR MAP SENSOR AND HARNESS
2) ***** FOR 15 PSI (I WAS ONLY TUNED TO 12.5 PSI BUT HAD THE PROFEC ON HIGH BOOST AT 14.5PSI FOR THE LAST 3 MONTHS THE CAR WAS ON THE ROAD LOL) - DONT LIMIT URSELF TO 10 PSI.. EVEN 10 TO 12.5 PSI WAS A HUGE DIFF, AT 14.5-15 PSI ITS A MONSTA

2.5" EXHAUST? ECUTOUT ANYWHERE BEFORE THAT?

No need for a 3 Bar map sensor because I am only limiting myself to 10psi. I am limiting myself to 10psi because I have set my HP goals.

I did consider replacing my timing belt, oil pump, and water pump...but this motor is a 2001 motor with only around 34,000 miles on the clock, so I decided that its not a priority yet.

I am gonna get OBDI clips..I bought them together with my RC injectors.\

Anymore?,

If this is your first boosted motor. 10lbs will be pretty fast. Play with that for a while then you can go to 15 later like short round said

I would recommend upgrading your clutch. Stock clutches and boost isnt the best combo. That's my .02

not really a performance thing, but might as well take something to all that rust on the manifold. best to take care of it now while its off the car.
