The power of Hondata
I was just overlooking the hondata website and I learned a lot by watching the video demonstrations: http://www.hondata.com/downloads.html
I was really amazed by this quote:
"I just want to thank you and South Florida Performance for my Hondata 3B. I honestly think it is the best investment I have made for my car. Ever since I put it on, my car drives fine, starts up perfect, and runs really hard. I have a 2000 GSR Turbo. I have about 13,000 miles on it. My block is sleeved and the parts consist of JE 9:1 pistons and Pauter Rods. My head is COMPLETELY stock. I'm using the P28 OBDI computer. There was an event this weekend at Moroso. I drove up there from Miami w/ full interior in my car including my spare tire. My A/C was cranking, I still had power steering, the whole nine yards. I managed to run a best time of 11.90 @ 119.33mph. This was at 19.5psi. After that run, I picked up and drove to my hotel. Then drove back to the track the next day, raced the whole day and drove back to Miami. I got a total of 16 runs and still managed to drive my car back to Miami w/out any problems. I think this deserves a mention considering its a daily driver, I mean EVERY DAY I get around in this car. To work, to school, out on weekends, everywhere!!! And also, my head is completely stock. Frank Smith from South Florida did a great job w/ this car. That is a great shop and has great customer service."

What happens when a new version of hondata comes out? Do the 4b ppl have to buy separate hardware and software or is it upgradable?
if it is upgradable.......is the upgrade free or there is a small charge?

That's jorge's car. I'm not sure if he's on HondaTech but his Clubsi SN is TurboGSR. Since he ran 11.90 he's gotten some more work, he's gonna be running even harder now. He broke an axle tonight I heard. Everyone was waiting for him at the races to race a 240 that beat him when he was on low boost.

Ahh, 'twas Jorge with the stealth GS-R. I was there at Moroso when he pulled the 11.90, truly badass
Can't wait to see what he runs after the headwork!
Shame he hasn't been here on H-T in a while, nor do I ever see him anymore at the hangouts..

The silver one is the old style box that did not have locking connectors for the clutch, button, and ribbon cables. The new box is simply smaller, more compact, and more resistant to having cables get yanked off.

heheBTW-I've had the old style box since I got my system and it's never given me any trouble. The new style box sure looks cool though.

I believe Hondata is about to release a new version of the ROM chip that goes into the Hondata box. I believe it is supposed to cost current users like $50 to upgrade but it will fix some of the bugs in the older version.
Doug, correct me if I am wrong but I thought I saw that somewhere.
I look forward to the new version.
