possible cons to turbo an automatic?
Ok, I know I'll get the usual, swap the auto, but what cons do you forsee with a turbo'd D16Y8 auto? If the turbo went in, any automatic specific upgrades needed?
Thanks

Cons of an auto:
1) You car will be slower than if it wasn't auto.
2) Your transmission WILL fail.
3) And lastly, it's boring to drive
And just for you, swap it... or have more fun by blowing it up, then swapping it. See how much she can take!
Good luck.

Re: possible cons to turbo an automatic? (96greencivic)
Yea they are right I know this for a fact. I have a boosted Integra automatic and I had to change it to a 5-speed. To prove they are right the tranny just stopped shifting gears would not get out of first, second I could not feel the power of the car and it was just plain boring to drive, and third on 10psi on a LS Integra I went 15.6@94mph and 5 speed I went 13.9@104. So I can say automatic turboed cars suck and I am much happyer with the 5-speed.
