plugs and fuel
so i went to my auto class today
i run the hack and have difficulty startings, the tech with 30 years experience sas since im using 93 octane, id have some problems cuz its slower burning, which makes sense, ne opinions on this
also my plugs with less than 150 miles are pretty much fouled, the ring that holds the electrode is a dark soot color althought the electrode is white, im running bpcpr7es -11 gapped to .03, he said try a warmer plug, maybe even stock, why? well weather around here, nj, is cold, so when the car first starts, the block is cold, therefore the plugs (thread area) is cool since it contacts the block, although the electrode is hot (real white color) , uneven heat distribution for the climate right now, maybe the bpcpr7es -11 when the ambient temp is warmer, spring time summer time
what do u guys think, does this makes sense, im gonna try stock plugs tommorow, need some reassurance
chris

I am a bad person
Re: plugs and fuel (vha27)
the plugs you are using are stage 11 heat range?? if you run a plug thats too cold it will foul. I had to change my stage 8's every week to 10 days.

Re: plugs and fuel (vha27)
Are you running stock fuel pressure and injector sizing? If not, that's your problem. Not the 93 octane, not the unfouled plugs. Plugs foul when buildup occurs on and directly around the electrode tip & ground strap, the exposed plug body will naturally buildup carbon almost immediately after use.
