i cant find anywhere to order just the sleeves online. wanting to compare prices online, but the price i find are of the sleeves installed...i just want the sleeves, cause i have found a local machine shop to do the job..

Have the block sleeved at a reputable place with a CNC machine. If you have them installed by some joe blow who will press them in you run the risk of having them sink, etc.

 

the place that i have been looking at is a very reputable place, the specializes in "hot rods" so to say, mostly big v8s stuff like that...didnt think to ask how the went about installing them..how likely would they be to sink

 

If you have any doubt's just box it up and ship it to an experienced shop.I've done them for myself and a few customers but it is different from the daily stuff.For the time it takes me to do it right I don't make any real money doing it.The next time I have one to do for a customer I will probably ship it out.

BEWARE if the shop you choose has not done at least 10-20 sleeve installs already. Most shops will screw up the first few times they try it. There are many things to go wrong. Find out what they charge for an align bore also as incorrect installs will require an align bore also. Remember installing a replacement sleeve in an engine is NOT the same as installing Darton sleeves correctly.
BTW, buy your sleeves from IP.com above as Ben's prices are great.
