Default pistons in stock block

I have a set of forge pistons and rods but was wondering if I have to have the block sleeved to have them put in. I heard that the piston will swell and get stuck, not sure if true but I wanted to know If i could put them in my block with new rings and a good honeing job.

you have to bore the block to match the pistons

if the pistons are the same bore as the stock sleeves in your block your ok. Do a good hone job and throw them in there.

i think you should at least go .5mm over bore then hone on a rebuild. make sure the cylinders are nice and round.

but to the original poster, new sleeves are not needed for aftermarket pistons. what size pistons do you have?

they are cp pistons that are stock size for a b18 I just wanted to know if they can go in and not need a sleeving. I only want to run at least 10 to 13 lbs of boost

i dont think you can just drop in stock bore forged pistons into the stock cylinder bores.

forged pistons are designed to run looser clearences than the OEM cast pistons. the OEM cylinder bores are machined for the OEM cast pistons which run really tight clearences...

if you just drop in those pistons without having it bored/honed you might run into piston to wall clearence issues which will cause some serious damage.

you should have the pistons and the block ATLEAST measure to see what kind of clearences you come up with.

I guess I will spend the extra dough and just have the block sleeved if it has to come to gettin things honed or bored. Plus I would be able to run more boost safely. Thanks for the input You all.
