Pistons melting.....
Alright I've could word that running with too high of a compression (10.5:1) @ around 8psi, would cause my pistons to melt (ITR's).
Is there anyone running a mildly high compression with mid boost that can back this theory up? Would like to get some input before the motor is throw together and only last for 10k miles......

i would think that if you have the proper fuel management or engine management unit like aem ems or hondata, that you would be fine. i had a piston melt, and it was because i leaned out in one cylinder.

As stated before, you will melt them under lean condition since combustion temperatures get very hot. Usually you will melt the pistons on the intake side.

If you lower the compression, you will give yourself more room for error. I have seen a few 10:1 or so CR motors do fine on round 8 psi, some with water injection do a few psi more. Tuning is key, and if you aren't going to spend the time and money there, even the best built motor will suffer the consequences.

The tuning isn't my biggest concern....there arent many street cars that have mid boost/comp set up (for hondas) and its a project to tackle that....i just wanted to know if the ITR pistons were going to turn into marshmallows after its been driven a few times....
