Its more in the neighborhood of 0.110" too wide to allow clearance of 0.050.

I would ask a machine shop... i was always told mod the piston not the rod so idk lol

I have always herd machining the piston is the way to go as well, I never got a definate answer why though.

Thanks for the video, but you have the wrong idea. It is piston to rod clearance, not rod to pin.

Might be there is more material on the pistons to work with?

we've done rod narrowing on our applications. but it was oem rods, like b16b pistons onto b16a rods. no problems.

After talking to my Tuner, he said different situations call for different answers.. Like if you already have a narrow Rod, then take some off the piston or if you have a big rod then take some off of there.. He said there was no Wrong or right way to do it.. it all depends on the situation...
